SAIC Motor crowned as China’s fifth most valuable listed company

Top Chinese automaker SAIC Motor Corp Ltd (SAIC Motor), with an estimated value of 239.44 billion yuan ($35.24 billion), ranked fifth among the top 100 Chinese listed companies by brand value, as well as the 10th among the top 50 Chinese listed companies by overseas brand value this year, according to a list released on March 31, 2017.

Tencent, China Mobile, Alibaba and China National Petroleum Corp were also included on the list.

The 2017 Brand Value List of Chinese Listed Companies, was unveiled by Tsinghua University's National Entrepreneurship Research Center and National Business Daily, and is based on over 30 experts’ one-year observation and research on 4,344 Chinese listed enterprises.

The ranking of brand value covers a company's business earnings, a brand's contribution to total revenue and brand potential.

As the country’s largest auto company, SAIC Motor has been focusing on innovation to follow the development trend of auto industry and speed up industrial transformation.

To match the country's new economic situation, creating a competitive global brand has become the "unavoidable requirement and responsibility" for Chinese companies. SAIC Motor will continue efforts on innovation to promote Chinese brand around the world.
